Computer Groups
Configure common settings for computers and assign a vDisk Group with the images the computers in a group will receive.
Create a vDisk Group before configuring a Computer Group.
Options for Computer Groups:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Name | Name of the Computer Group with a maximum of 32 characters |
vDisk Group | The vDisk Group or chain of vDisks assigned to the Computer Group |
Domain Name | You can assign a domain to the group, all computers will join to the domain. You need to configure a domain |
Workgroup Name | Computers will join to a workgroup. You need to configure a workgroup |
Wipe on Reboot | Computers will wipe its disk and restore the original image on every reboot, usually set on kiosk or multi-user computers. Cannot select this option if 'Persistent' is enabled |
Keep Persistent | Computers will not receive disk updates and always keep the current version. Useful when you do not want to wipe the local data on updates. A client in MANT or TEST will not wipe its local disk on reboots. This option cannot be selected if 'Wipe on Reboot' option is enabled |
Do not Expand VHDx | By default, a VHDx will be expanded to its full size resulting in a big file, for example if the volume has 90GB the VHDx will occupy 90GB, check this option to keep the VHDx to the actual size of the data (recommended) |
Disable Automatic Windows Updates | Use Local Group Policies to disable automatic Windows Updates, they can still be installed manually. If the computer belongs to a domain, Domain Group Policies will take precedence over this configuration |
Persistent Native Drive Letter | The persistent drive is the disk where images and permanent data is stored. Select the drive letter that will be assigned to the persistent native drive. You can use this letter to configure scripts or group policies that redirect data to this drive letter. This data will be preserved when computers are updated |
Windows Key | Windows key to apply on computer. It's highly recommended to use KMS activation, as a MAK key will consume an activation every time the vDisk is updated. Learn more about Windows Activation |
Update Interval | Interval in minutes to get configuration and updates |
BITS Profile | Helps you control download bandwidth based on schedules. Check BITS Profiles for more information |
Branchcache Profile | The computer will download updates from other clients if available or from branchcache hosted servers. Check Branchcache Profiles for more information |
User Migration Profile | Profile to restablish user and applications configuration. Check USMT Profiles for more information |
Driver Profile | Enable searching drivers on Windows Catalog, enable downloading compatible drivers uploaded to Host Provisioning. Check Driver Profiles for more information |
